Nrityamanjariby Rashmi

Where discipline blossoms into expression

A boutique Bharatanatyam, Bollywood and NrityaFit™ studio — built on purpose, centered on small classes, personal attention, and decades of teaching experience.

Our Story

A studio built with intention

Nrityamanjari is still young — and we hope to remain thoughtfully small for years to come.

Nestled in Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal, our studio was created with a simple belief: dance flourishes where every student is truly seen. Each class is intentionally kept small, allowing time for individual guidance, meaningful corrections, and genuine artistic growth.

As evening falls, the studio comes alive with diverse journeys. Working professionals leave behind the pace of the day, young dancers discover discipline and confidence, and women who once believed they had danced their last step rediscover the quiet joy of movement.

Growth has never been our measure of success. We choose depth over scale, nurturing each student with patience, care, and consistency. Every class is an opportunity to build not only stronger dancers, but more confident individuals.

This is the foundation on which Nrityamanjari continues to grow — one student, one family, and one meaningful connection at a time.

Our Roots

Rooted in the Kalakshetra tradition of Bharatanatyam, Nrityamanjari is guided by a philosophy that values discipline, precision, humility, and artistic integrity. Every class draws upon decades of dedicated learning, performance, and teaching, while honouring the timeless spirit of the guru–shishya parampara.

Our Classes

Each class is limited to eight students, allowing every learner to receive thoughtful guidance, careful correction, and the time needed for genuine artistic growth.

Our Community

We affectionately call our community NrityaFam. It emerged naturally as students returned week after week, growing not only as dancers, but alongside one another.

The Soul of Nrityamanjari

Ms. Rashmi

Ms. Rashmi

Founder, Principal Guru & Artistic Director

Rashmi's journey with Bharatanatyam began at the age of five and has since evolved into a lifelong pursuit of artistic excellence. A graduate of Kalakshetra, where she graduated first in her class, she has devoted decades to the study, performance, and teaching of Indian classical dance.

Over the years, she has taught at leading schools in Bhopal and abroad, choreographed acclaimed productions, and mentored generations of students with the same care and discipline that shaped her own training.

At Nrityamanjari, she brings together the rigour of the Kalakshetra tradition with a deeply personal approach to teaching — guiding every student with patience, precision, and the conviction that true artistry flourishes through individual attention.

The Roots

A devotion that began at five

For Ms. Rashmi, dance has never been merely something she learned — it has always been a way of life.

Her journey began at the age of five under the guidance of Shri P. S. Manu, where the first foundations of discipline, rhythm, and expression were quietly laid. That early calling naturally led her to the Kalakshetra Foundation (Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts), Chennai — one of India's most respected institutions for Bharatanatyam.

Immersed in the Kalakshetra tradition, she completed the prestigious four-year Diploma in Bharatanatyam, graduating first in her class and consistently ranking at the top throughout her formative years. Those years shaped not only her technique, but also the values that continue to define her teaching today: discipline, humility, precision, and a deep reverence for the art.

The Artistry

Where geometry meets poetry

To watch Rashmi perform is to witness the rare balance between precision and expression. Every movement reflects the architectural clarity of the Kalakshetra tradition, while every gesture carries the emotional depth of abhinaya.

Her artistry is distinguished by the crisp precision of her adavus, the grace of her movement, and a nuanced expressive vocabulary that allows stories to unfold with quiet authenticity.

Over the years, she has performed extensively in Kalakshetra dance dramas and on prestigious cultural stages across India. Her dedication to the art was recognized with First Prize at the Madhya Pradesh State Youth Festival (2000), among other honours that have marked her artistic journey.

The Journey

From student to guru

Years of learning gradually gave way to years of teaching, performing, and choreographing. What began as a young student's fascination with Bharatanatyam evolved into a life dedicated to sharing its beauty with others.

Over the years, Ms. Rashmi has taught at leading schools in Bhopal and has shared Indian classical and folk dance with students beyond India. As a teacher, choreographer, and performer, she has guided learners of all ages with patience, discipline, and genuine care.

Her choreographic productions celebrate India's rich artistic heritage while creating meaningful experiences for every performer. Whether teaching a child's first adavu or directing a full-length dance production, she believes that every step should deepen both technique and understanding.

The Blossom

Where a lifelong journey finds its home

Every lesson learned, every performance given, and every student guided led, quietly and naturally, to this moment.

On 8 May 2026, Nrityamanjari was founded as the home of Ms. Rashmi's artistic vision — a place where the discipline of Bharatanatyam, the joy of movement, and the vitality of dance-based fitness come together under one roof.

More than a dance studio, Nrityamanjari is a place to learn with purpose, to grow with confidence, and to discover the quiet transformation that dance can bring to both body and spirit.

Our Philosophy

Why we teach the way we do

At Nrityamanjari, we believe dance is not measured by how quickly it is learned, but by how deeply it is understood.

Technique is important, but it is only the beginning. True learning happens when every student is given the time to be seen, corrected with care, encouraged with patience, and inspired to discover their own artistic voice. This is why our classes remain intentionally small and why every lesson is approached with purpose rather than haste.

Rooted in the timeless values of the guru–shishya parampara, we see dance not simply as a performance, but as a lifelong practice that nurtures discipline, confidence, creativity, and character.

Whether a student dreams of the stage, seeks the joy of movement, or simply wishes to reconnect with themselves through dance, our purpose remains the same: to guide every individual with sincerity, respect, and unwavering care.

How We Teach

Excellence is cultivated through attention, not numbers

Each class is limited to eight students, allowing every learner to receive thoughtful guidance, careful correction, and the time needed for genuine artistic growth.

Progress is earned through demonstrated mastery, never simply through time spent in the room. Every class asks for discipline, but always with patience, encouragement, and care.

Who Finds a Home Here

Dance welcomes every season of life

At Nrityamanjari, students arrive for many different reasons. Some seek the discipline of Bharatanatyam. Others come looking for movement, confidence, friendship, or simply an hour each week that belongs entirely to themselves.

Whether you are taking your very first steps in dance or returning after many years away, you will be welcomed with patience, encouragement, and respect for your own journey.

You may find yourself here if you are:

A working professional looking to reconnect with yourself through movement A teenager discovering confidence, discipline, and artistic expression A mother returning to dance after years devoted to family and work A complete beginner curious to experience the joy of Indian dance for the very first time

No previous experience is required. Only a willingness to begin.

Our Social Commitment
Because every child deserves the opportunity to dance

At Nrityamanjari, we believe that talent should never be limited by financial circumstances. For every class we offer, one place is reserved as a scholarship seat for a student whose family would otherwise be unable to access dance education. We are honoured to support our first scholarship student today, and as our community grows, we hope to open that door to many more.

For us, sharing the art is not simply an act of teaching — it is a responsibility.
